Pastoral Districts of Navarre

In 2019, pastoral districts (called "UAP" in Spanish) were established in the Diocese of Iruña-Tuteru, concentrating 700 parishes of Navarra into 36 pastoral districts. The goal is essentially to work pastorally as if they formed a single parish. There should be a team of priests for the entire district and only one pastoral council is formed. Parishioners from all villages should feel they are participants of the same circumscription. Legally and economically, however, each parish maintains its own sovereignty.
Ecclesiastically, our pastoral district is within the Diocese of Iruñea, specifically in the Mendialde pastoral zone and Aralar deanery. Regarding civil territorial organization, we are in ten municipalities of Navarra: LEITZA, ARESO, GOIZUETA, ARANO, ARAITZ, BETELU, LARRAUN, LEKUNBERRI, BASABURUA, AND IMOTZ.
At present, three priests in solidum serve in the mentioned pastoral district: Jesus Mari Sotil, Santiago Garisoain, and David Galarza, and on weekends another three priests come to assist with celebrating Mass: Joxe Mari Aleman, Pako Beloki, and Peio Etxabarri.
